On the red carpet, a popular theme emerged: sequins and embellishments. Like Repurpose, Broadway is working towards a better future for the environment. Launched in 2008, the Broadway Green Alliance is affiliated with the Broadway League and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. At its core, the BGA is about working together to repair the damage done by climate change.

Allison Stroman - On June 3, 2024, the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network held their third annual meeting. A joint venture between the United Nations Office for Partnerships and the Fashion Impact Fund, the UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network is a space for collaboration between the UN and the fashion and lifestyle industries to make meaningful progress in innovation and education. The end goal: attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
On June 28, 1969 patrons of the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in New York City rose up against police for their brutality and unfair treatment of the patrons. The Stonewall Uprising was the catalyst for the creation of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. One year after the Stonewall Uprising, the first Pride march took place in New York City with between three and five thousand protesters. This march was organized by the Eastern Regional Conference of Homophile Organizations (ERCHO) to remember Stonewall and continue protesting for equal rights.
