We continue the act of kindness by raising funds for our partner non-profits and providing jobs for people who have faced economic hardship. Founded by Zoey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik, Lettuce Grow is a company that challenges consumers to rethink food. Food production consumes large amounts of resources.
Waves of color filled the streets of NYC over the weekend for Pride. This year’s theme, “The Fight Continues”, was a call to acknowledge there is still work to be done. “In a time of tremendous adversity for the community on many fronts, ‘The Fight Continues’ reflects the multitude of battles we’ve been fighting as a country and as a city.
Each June people come together to celebrate Pride. The month-long celebration calls for increased visibility along with the social and self acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride also recognizes the accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition, it memorializes the lives lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Lastly, it is a time that calls for advocacy on issues that directly affect LGBTQ+ persons.
