What our Workforce Development Program is doing next – and how Shop Repurpose helped them achieve career success

by Sofi Cisneros

This month, we’re saying goodbye to our graduating spring intern cohort, as well as a few of our volunteers and sales associates. As part of our Workforce Development Program, each member has utilized their unique talents to continue spreading Shop Repurpose’s message of social good and sustainability. So whether a photo, operations, upcycling, sales, or copywriting volunteer, intern, or associate, these dedicated SRW team members have truly risen to the occasion and shown our community the beauty of shopping with a purpose.

Thanks to the abundance of mentorship opportunities and hands-on experience in industries such as fashion and marketing, 82% of our Workforce Development Program have attained higher-paid jobs or continued their education after graduating from our mentorship program. Although we’re sad to see them leave, we’re so excited to witness them all flourish in their next career endeavors. Our team members are traveling, interning, working, or taking a much needed break this summer and beyond. We can’t wait to see how they apply the skills they’ve picked up in Shop Repurpose’s Workforce Development Program to their future plans.

Here’s what a few of our team members have in store…

Sofi Cisneros - Copywriting and Blog Intern

Upcoming Plans: Summer Editorial Intern at CNN Underscored

SRW Workforce Development Program takeaways to apply to future endeavors: Writing the weekly blogs has definitely improved my researching, interviewing, reporting, and overall journalism skills!
