Repurposed A.Tsagas Jacket

Inspiration behind the piece "When presented with this piece, I was slightly put off by the jacket. For it resembled something Buffalo Bill would create out of his victims. 
I sat with the piece and embraced the macabre energy it embodied and wanted to change the direction of how I was perceiving it. So I painted a young girl holding a flower, sewing herself together. Bringing a softer whimsical energy to the jacket. And if you follow the thread, you will see it is attached to the word repurpose. Tying in the whole piece"

About the artist: Danbi ( 단비 ) is a bi-racial, ball-busting, self-taught artist. Born on American soil but raised throughout different regions of China, while never shaking her American-Korean heritage, she absorbed the world through the eyes of a mutt.

Danbi seeks to share and connect with people who experience the world in a similar way, to see the world and have the compassion to understand it.

Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Danbi strives to be able to create meaningful art on lightly loved pieces to give them another chance to shine.
