Fashion Inspiration for Transitioning to Fall

Fashion Inspiration for Transitioning to Fall

Allison Stroman - As we transition from summer into fall, it is important to think about how to transition your wardrobe, incorporating flowy summer pieces for cooling with fall staples like boots to match the changing leaves and soon-to-be cooler temperatures. A simple place to start is with color and finding pieces within a color palette that suggests fall. The Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report provides some colors to start with. These shades are selected using the “Pantone® Fashion, Home + Interiors Color System, the most widely used and recognized color standards system for fashion, textile, home, and interior design” with the report serving as a “semi-annual color trend forecast”. This report features the colors that will likely appear in the runway shows of Fashion Week and “serves as a color reference throughout the season for retailers and brands as well as fashion enthusiasts and reporters”

The colors for the Fall/Winter 2024/2025 season are rich and earthy so as to emphasis a “deeper connection to nature”. These tones are “characterized by a mix of elegance and practicality linked to conscious consumption and slowing trend cycles” with an emphasis on joyful functionality that is “self-assured, no muss, no fuss”. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute commented on this fact and further emphasized the need to consider longevity:

“Colors for NYFW Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 strive for balance between the more familiar and the new and exciting, embracing longevity and seasonless style…Functional and adaptable, they are reliable and robust, servicing our increasingly hybridized style of living, providing a strong chromatic foundation and at the same time delivering playful and energetic accents for moments of magic.”

So to transition into this color palette, our expert stylists created these looks with pieces we have in our curated collection. Like what you see? Contact us for more information or to schedule a styling or shopping appointment.
